B Thesis: ”OUR CURRENCY, BUT YOUR PROBLEM”

“Our currency, but your problem” was the famous phrase used by Richard Nixon’s Treasury Secretary, John Connally, in 1971 when addressing a group of European finance ministers. I believe many people would still agree with this sentiment today. My B thesis, written at Stockholm University, focuses precisely on this issue—the prevailing dollar hegemony, and more specifically, how BRICS could challenge it.

C Thesis: ”Bitcoin In Developing Countries”

As a conclusion to my B thesis, I suggest that further research should focus on how blockchain technology (and Bitcoin) could pose a potential threat to dollar hegemony. This was where my C thesis was set to begin. Writing about Bitcoin in the thesis was a given, but instead of focusing on the threat to dollar hegemony, I chose to concentrate on Bitcoin’s potential opportunities in developing countries.
